Description:
The project aims at transforming and extending a building into work spaces. The pre-existing building is an emptied residential building in Vic’s old town.
The modification of the inside organisation and the vertical node position allow some diaphanous, dividable and flexible working spaces. The image of a public building in the Plaza has to respect the materiality and the spirit of the surrounding construction. Another important constraint is to adapt the building to the accessibility and evacuations regulations for public use.
The space inside is layered in strips: the workspaces are closer to the plaza and the natural light and the services and staircases are further back. The raised floors are like carpets surrounded by a concrete floor that makes a transition with the old building’s imperfect geometry.
